Woman sentenced to prison for impersonating immigration attorney, ICE agent

TUCSON, Ariz. - A Tucson woman was sentenced to prison for impersonating an immigration attorney and ICE agent.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 38-year-old Elvira Contreras was sentenced to 18 months in prison for the crimes. Her sentence will be followed by three years of supervised release.

Contreras, who defrauded victims while pretending to be immigration attorney Doralina Luna, pleaded guilty to wire fraud and was also ordered to pay $89,935 in restitution.

She also told victims that she worked for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and said she could get people immigration documents for a fee.
