NOGALES, Ariz. — The Port of Nogales is in full operation Thursday, after lane closures and long lines caused border crossing delays over the past week.
Customs and Border Protection says some delays last week at the Mariposa and Deconcini Ports were caused by asylum seekers in Mexico, forcing their way through traffic in an attempt to cross the border.

Wait times spiked up to six hours as vehicle lanes were shut down.
CBP says people should prepare for similar delays this holiday season. It's recommended to have travel documents ready, and to bring food and water.
If you’re crossing into Mexico, you’ll want to prepare for possibly long lines coming back into the US. @CBPArizona says these lines are pretty normal for the middle of the day. @kgun9 pic.twitter.com/ydXi6TSWqk
