The Department of Public Safety has confirmed a trooper was involved in a shooting near Jackrabbit Trail and Lewis Avenue late Saturday night.
DPS Captain Jesse Galvez said the trooper involved in the shooting was not injured; however, no further information has been provided at this time.
Details on the suspect's condition were not released.
It is the ninth officer-involved shooting in the Valley so far this year.
Officials say Jackrabbit will remain closed from Thomas to McDowell until further notice.

The Buckeye Police Department originally arrived on scene to assist in the investigation, but DPS has taken over, according to a tweet sent out by Buckeye PD.
This is an ongoing investigation.
