About Jake
From the pines of Flagstaff to the valley of the sun and now the Old Pueblo, Jake Knapp has lived all over our state. Born in Illinois, Jake moved to Sedona in 1994 where he attended Red Rock High School. From there he ventured south to Tempe where he graduated from ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism in 2003.
Jake started his professional career right here in Tucson as an editor for KVOA. He then landed his first on-air job when he became the sports anchor/reporter, director, and photographer for KNAZ-TV in Flagstaff and fill in sports anchor at KPNX, 12 News in Phoenix.
Here in Tucson, he’s looking forward to covering major college rivalries, community sports and the pros. “It’s great to be in Southern Arizona. Tucson is an excellent sports town, and getting a chance to be around such passionate sports fans is a real treat.”
In his spare time Jake enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities, going to the gym and spending time with his friends and family.
