About Ian
Ian Reitz co-anchors Good Morning Tucson and KGUN 9 On Your Side at 11am.
Prior to joining KGUN 9, Ian anchored weekends and reported for KTSM-TV in El Paso, Texas. During that time, Ian flew with the Army’s Golden Knights, trained with the FBI and took viewers inside the Border Patrol Academy. He also was the only El Paso reporter to provide live coverage from Southern California following the 2007 wildfires. Ian’s reports showed El Paso volunteers making a difference by helping residents of San Diego rebuild. During his tenure, Ian was no stranger to breaking news; he found himself knee deep in water when floods soaked the city and frequently reported along the U.S./Mexico border as the immigration debate intensified. His work earned recognition from both the Texas and New Mexico Association of Broadcasters.
Before moving to Texas, Ian was a reporter at KMIR-TV, KGUN’s sister station in Palm Springs, California. He began his career in 2001 as a desk assistant at KTTV in Los Angeles.
Reitz holds two bachelor’s degrees from Chapman University in Orange, California, a B.F.A. in Broadcast Journalism and a B.A. in Political Science. He graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was selected by faculty as the University Valedictorian.
A native of Gig Harbor, Washington, Ian enjoys the sunny skies of Tucson. When he’s not at work, you can find him exploring the Southwest, jogging, working on his tennis swing, and spending time with family and friends.
