A 44-year-old woman escaped a fire in her eastside home Wednesday morning.
According to Tucson Fire, the call came in at 5:38 a.m. and crews had the fire under control by 6:04 a.m. The home is near East Tanque Verde Road and North Indian Springs Drive.
The woman told firefighters that smoke alarms woke her up. A neighbor helped fight the blaze, which started on the patio, by smothering it with a rug. The cause and damage estimate are under investigation.
No one was injured. The Red Cross is assisting the woman.
