While President-elect Donald Trump proposed a border wall, a large reservation in southern Arizona is saying they won't let it happen on their land, KGUN9 sister station KNXV reports.
Verlon Jose, a tribal chairman for the Tohono O'odham Nation, said in an interview with a Phoenix radio station, "over my dead body will a wall be built." Jose said he wants to work together to help protect America's homeland.
The lands of the Tohono O'odham Nation are located within the Sonoran Desert in south central Arizona. Boundaries begin south of Casa Grande and encompass parts of Pinal, Pima and Maricopa Counties before continuing south into Mexico.
