TUCSON, Ariz. - The Pima County Sheriff's Department says a man has died after crashing his pickup truck near Sabino Canyon Saturday afternoon.
Deputies responded to reports of a single vehicle crash near Sunrise Drive and Via Umbrosa around 2 p.m. They say when they arrived, they found that a pickup truck had driven off the roadway and into trees.
The driver of that truck was taken to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead. He's been identified as 61-year-old Gregory Simmons.
Sunrise Drive was closed for several hours in both directions.

There is no word when roadways will reopen.
