Tucson Police Department are investigating a homicide that took place in an east side apartment complex.
Authorities have arrested 22-year-old King Yates, the victim's husband.
Yates was arrested for 1st-degree murder, misconduct involving weapons and 2nd-degree burglary.
Officers responded to a report of a suspicious activity and the sound of breaking glass in the 2400 block of N. Desert Links Dr.
When they arrived, they found an eviction notice posted on the front door and broken window in the black large enough for entry.
The officers entered the residence and found Yates asleep in the bedroom. He was detained without incident.
Sgt. Pete Dugan said the shooting happened at the Tanque Verde Apartments near Tanque Verde Rd. and Pantano Rd.
The call came in around 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening. When police arrived at the apartment complex, they found a woman in her mid-20's who was suffering from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say there were at least three people in the apartment at the time who all knew each other, and say the shooting is not random.
