Officer shoots, kills dog after being bitten

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - An officer shot and killed a dog who bit him on Tuesday afternoon.

Officer Dan Lucas, spokesperson with the Tucson Police Department say the call about three loose dogs in the area of Elm Street and 9th Avenue came in around noon.

When an officer arrived on scene and got out of his vehicle, he was bitten by the dog.

The dog attempted to bite the officer again and that is when the officer shot and killed the dog, said Lucas.

The officer suffered minor injuries.
