26 hikers are rescued after being stranded by high, fast-moving waters in the Sabino Canyon area Sunday afternoon and evening.

According to the Pima County Sheriff's Twitter account, all stranded hikers from 7 Falls and Bear Canyon were rescued by late Sunday night.

Search and rescue teams from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department were working to help at least 26 people safely exit the canyon. A department spokesman says the group of hikers was stranded on the far side of a bridge leading from the popular Seven Falls and Bear Canyon trails to the parking lot. Deputies say nobody was in danger and a DPS helicopter helped ferry people to safety.

Rain in the area of the Santa Catalina Mountains prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood warning Sunday afternoon.
