Firefighters were on the scene of a garage fire early Sunday morning in the 1700 block of W. Rue De La Montagne.
According to Andy Skaggs with TFD, crews arrived at 12:59 a.m. to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the home's garage.
The fire was put out in 22 minutes. No firefighters were injured.
A woman in her 30's was the only resident inside when the fire started. When she discovered the flames, she ran out of her house immediately, went to her neighbor's house, and called 9-1-1.
The woman and her three kids will be receiving help from the Red Cross and friends.
There were two pet birds who did not survive the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
