A family of three and their dog escaped a home that was torched in a fire Wednesday.

According to Tucson Fire, the crew was dispatched to an apartment in the 800 block of North Alvernon at 8:41 a.m. and had the fire under control by 8:53 a.m.
Crews put out flames that were coming from the rear of the second-story apartment.
The cause is under investigation.
