Deputies from the Pima County Sheriff's Department are investigating the death of a 6-month-old girl.
At noon on Sunday deputies responded to the 2900 block of West Katapa Trail for a report of a 6-month-old girl who was not breathing.
Members of the Mountain Vista Fire District arrived on scene and transported the girl to Banner University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
An autopsy has been scheduled for this week.
Deputies say the cause of death will be determined by the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner.
PCSD's Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.
