Catalina Foothills teacher resigns after accusations of inappropriate relationship with student

A Catalina Foothills teacher has resigned after an investigation was launched into allegations that he had an inappropriate relationship with a student. 

Charles Schubert was placed on administrative leave on January 27th.

The Catalina Foothills School District released the following letter to parents:

Dear Parents,
 
On Friday, January 27th, Catalina Foothills High School was alerted to an alleged inappropriate relationship between a student and Charles Schubert, Catalina Foothills High School Career and Technical Education Coordinator. When the District became aware of this allegation, it immediately reported the allegation to the Pima County Sheriff's Department.  Mr. Schubert was also placed on administrative leave on January 27th.  The Pima County Sheriff's Department is investigating this matter.  The District is cooperating with the investigation.  Mr. Schubert has resigned his position with the Catalina Foothills School District.
