Border Patrol has confirmed they are investigating an off-duty Tucson agent's involvement in starting the Sawmill Fire.
The agent was involved in recreational shooting and immediately reported the fire after it began according to a release from Border Patrol.
A Red Flag Warning remains in place until 7 p.m. Thursday night, with even stronger wind conditions on Friday and into the weekend.
The fire has burned roughly 46,991 acres and is 61 percent contained.
The fire started east of Green Valley and traveled east over the Santa Rita Mountains. The fire is now burning north of Sonoita.
