Trash Tips (courtesy, Tucson Guide to Residential Services)

** Use only the containers provided by Environmental Services.  Other types of garbage cans, boxes or receptacles cannot be serviced.

** The city will repair or replace containers that are damaged as a result of normal wear and tear.  Please prevent undue damage to the containers and keep them clean.

** Set out your garbage and recycling containers by 6 am on your service day to guarantee same day collection.

** Do not remove city containers from your property if you change residences.  Containers are assigned to the address.

** Garbage containers cannot be used for dirt, building materials, toxic or hazardous materials, unwrapped animal waste, water heaters, coolers, or other bulky items.

** Never place hot ashes, coals, or other burning materials in the garbage containers.

** To reduce flies and odors, please bad and securely tie all garbage in plastic bags before placing it in the container.

** Yard waste may be disposed of in your garbage container as long as it fits in the container with the lid closed.

** Please do not place bundles, bags, boxes, or other items on top of a closed lid, as this will interfere with the servicing.

** Children should never play near collection trucks or inside the containers.

** Containers must be removed from the curb on non-collection days and placed on private property.
